GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Director Existing Store Capital Projects is responsible for leading the planning and execution of all Existing Stores projects (i.e., Refresh, Remodels, Capacity Ads, Special Projects, and Ad Hoc projects), and working directly with external vendors while supporting Field Teams throughout the process.
This role leads a team of Managers, Project Leads and Coordinators (both FTE and contractor) who are responsible for ensuring all projects are completed on budget and on time. This includes ensuring processes are optimized, clear, and documented for both internal teams and 3rd party installers, executing ongoing management of all installation vendors, as well as sourcing and training of new vendors, and creating and approving capital and expense budgets and monthly forecasts. Strong collaboration with internal Store Planning and Design partners (who own CAD / store drawings), Fixture Purchasing (who ensures fixtures are available for all projects), Merchandising and Signage Teams, I.T, and Loss Prevention is critical.
This role leads the team who will be the main point of contact for the Field and Corporate business partners during each phase of the project. This includes ensuring the team works, and actively communicates, with all key business partners to meet timelines, react to feedback in a timely manner, troubleshoot issues and anticipate opportunities to improve processes and service levels. This role will also be the main point of contact for the Store Operations executive team and will provide ongoing statuses (such as decks and dashboards). The Director supports the Senior Director in the development and execution of all team priorities and strategies.
The base salary range for this role is $108,600 - $204,150. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Is responsible for ensuring all installation and Operations activities are completed per the project timeline, with minimal errors and go-backs, and on budget
Ensures all corporate tools, reporting, and schedules are executed as planned, issues are identified and fixed early, and processes are designed to minimize shortages, go-backs, and provide high level of customer service to Stores
Leads the team to ensure all end-to-end Field processes including all timelines, training, and manuals are optimized, clear, and concise; ensures all Initiatives and Best Practices are communicated in ways that apply to all projects
Ensures the leadership team is effectively prioritizing and planning all workload
Leads the development of annual budgets (includes 5-year plan and budget revisions), approves monthly forecasts, and secures funding as needed for unanticipated fixture and operational needs
Travels to Ross and dd's discounts stores to oversee quality and delivery of fixtures, installation, and execution of all operational activities
Acts as main point of contact for the Store Operations Leadership team and provides ongoing statuses
Responsible for establishing a high performing team through ongoing development, engagement, and performance management of direct reports. Ensures direct reports have tools and training to cascade levers of high performance across the pyramid.
Drives the sourcing and onboarding of all installation vendors; works with Strategic sourcing to drive RFPs and develop contracts and SOWs; manages the ongoing performance of installation vendors and makes recommendations on whether to keep or terminate vendor relationships based on performance
Signs off on communication and communication plans to Stores throughout all projects
Supports the Senior Director of BMR and Existing Store Capital in the development and execution of team strategy and priorities including the creation of tools and processes that will drive consistencies and process efficiencies within the existing capital team

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
4 years of experience in vendor management, project management and operational support preferably in a retail environment
B.S. degree in Business or related field, preferred.
Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills
Strong project management and problem-solving skills required
Ability to successfully influence and drive results through cross-functional partnerships
Strong customer focus. Anticipates customer needs and takes action to meet them; continually searches for ways to increase customer satisfaction and improve processes
Strong experience with developing budgets, monthly forecasts and reporting
Strong vendor management and negotiation skills
Advanced proficiency in Word, Excel and Power Point
Able to travel as required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:
This role requires regular in-office presence, including attending in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback. However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in-office and remote work. #LI-Hybrid
