Responsible for all activities of the Environmental Services Department and ensures the delivery of the highest level of cleanliness, quality, and service. Implements and manages productivity, quality tracking, and reporting to achieve the standards required by CMS and Joint Commission readiness and accreditation. Provides direct oversight to Environmental Services supervisory staff to deliver best practices in sanitation, linen, scrubs, and disinfection for all GRHC locations and the Caring House.
Responsibilities- Manages and directs the Environmental Services department to ensure a clean and safe environment for patients, medical practitioners, staff members, and visitors.
- Participates in the research, preparation, and development of the department budget. Manages and tracks department expenditures within budget guidelines and adheres to organizational financial best practices.
- Investigates complaints, reports findings, and applies appropriate resolutions to any concerns or issues.
- Performs routine and ad hoc inspections of completed work in order to identify areas for corrective actions and ensure optimal departmental effectiveness.
- Oversees and manages routine preventative maintenance programs in order to ensure functionality of all departmental equipment.
- Determines scheduling and staffing requirements necessary to meet the departmental needs.
- Ensures that the building and grounds are maintained in a safe manner for patient comfort and convenience by ensuring that necessary equipment and supplies are maintained and operable to perform necessary duties and services.
- Develops and implements a quality assurance program and maintains quality assurance measures to ensure inspections meet expectations.
- Serves on various committees, attends meetings, and provides written and/or oral reports of services and activities regarding the department.
- Communicates, listens, and responds to the needs of patients, medical practitioners, and staff members.
- Provides leadership and works to develop and retain a service-oriented staff through recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, and day-to-day management practices that support the GRHC mission, objectives, and service expectations.
- Provides leadership and participates in programs and activities that promote workplace diversity and a positive employee relations environment.
- Identifies the education and training needs of staff in order to organize employee development initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare, Environmental Health or closely related field.
- 5 years of experience as an Environmental Services Manager in a healthcare environment.
- Gila River Indian Community member preferred.
- Continuing CPR and AED training and certification.
- State of Arizona driver's license with no significant violations during the last 5 years.
- Demonstrates ability to relate to diverse cultures and specifically the Gila River Community and/or other Native American cultures and community health services.
