Director, Construction, Popeyes

Our Opportunity:

Restaurant Brands International is looking for an experienced construction professional to be our Director of Construction, and join our Popeyes North America Development Team based in Miami, FL. The Director of Construction leads the regional Construction Manager team located across the U.S. and Canada.  Key additional partnerships include Field Operations, Real Estate, Design, Development Execution, Non-Traditional, Digital, Tech, and Supply Chain. Additionally, this role leads relationships with existing and new vendors in sourcing new materials as well as relationships with franchisees through different councils and association meetings. Finally, this role is a key link in supporting franchisees in project assessment and scoping, pipeline management, and completed projects assessment, both for remodels and new restaurant openings.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Execute the annual new restaurant growth pipeline including establishing routines with franchisees and general contractors and support project completion by problem solving procurement and execution issues.
• Partner with Supply Chain and Supply Management Services (SMS) to manage the relationship with new and existing suppliers as well as constantly look for opportunities of cost-optimizing projects.
• Relentlessly pursue cost optimization/value engineering on behalf of Franchisees
• Pursue innovation in the construction process, including new materials & methods, and improvements to our tracking/reporting, and training.
• Document best practices & processes for team/vendor training and alignment.
• Manage franchisee relationship through council and association meetings as well as develop and deliver presentations both internally and externally to executive level leadership.
• Ensure on-site inspections of new store sites and buildings to ensure usability and compliance with lease and construction exhibits; ensure quality workmanship per Popeyes' plans/specifications.
• Travel throughout North America to meet with franchisees and vendors.
• Manage ad hoc construction projects, contractors, and large budgets associated with it (i.e. annual Franchisee convention).
• Manage a team of +4 construction managers throughout North America.
• Provide ad hoc construction support and expertise to remodel and corporate restaurant teams.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in the fields of Business, Architecture, or Construction Management
• Proven track record of Construction/Project Management/single tenant development, QSR experience not a requirement but a plus
• Ability to read and draw a full set of architectural plans
• Demonstrates effective communication, influencing and organizational skills
• Strong demonstrable leadership, management, and negotiation skills
• Ability to collaborate with different departments to collect variety of data and structure pitch to potential franchisee partners
• Honesty, high integrity, personal accountability, and a passion for the success of the brand, the team, and personal career growth
