Pharmaron (Exton) Lab Services LLC, a preclinical Contract Research Organization located in Exton, PA, is seeking a motivated Network Engineer to join our information technology department. The Network Engineer will be responsible for providing on-site support and remote support for our Exton site and other locations.

Reporting to IT Director, the Network Engineer is responsible for providing technical support, which includes Network Configuration, troubleshooting, vendor management, software/ patches/hardware installation, and maintenance.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include End-user user support and ticket management, Working with onsite and Remote users, New Server installation, deployment, Network configuration, and troubleshooting, and troubleshooting LAN, WAN, and Cloud environment.

  • Configure network hardware such as servers, routers, and switches
  • Upgrade, repair, and maintain computer networks
  • Troubleshoot various network issues
  • Day-to-day network administration, including security and patch management, user account management, Internet access, and applications support
  • Proactively manage, maintain, and optimize server, network, and firewall systems
  • Administer and support Core Microsoft, Cisco, and VMWare technologies
  • Administer and support Endpoint Security Management software
  • Actively monitor and proactively address alerts encountered by users and automated monitoring systems
  • Make timely upgrades and repairs to ensure systems are operating optimally
  • Assign and update user security permissions on the network
  • Ensure email and data storage networks work optimally and user workstations are working efficiently and remain connected to the central computer network
  • Install and configure network hardware and software
  • Maintain inventory and configuration documentation
  • Define and document best practices and support procedures and train users in the proper use of hardware and software
  • Interact with vendors and team members at the technical level, as required
  • Implement and enforce all cyber security policies and procedures
  • Research and recommend current and future technology resources, purchases, and services to meet the organization's needs as requested. Assist in analyzing design and network models as needed
  • Deploy and update company-wide software
  • Manage servers and operating systems
  • Implement security measures
  • Manage physical and cloud network storage
  • Participate in an after hours rotating call schedule
  • Regular attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts
  • Must always adhere to safety protocols
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the IT Director

Soft Skill Requirements Include:

  • Experience working well independently and in a team setting
  • Excellent problem solving and relationship building
  • Ability to work on many problems and tasks at the same time and to quickly resolve problems
  • Ability to adapt procedures, processes, tools, equipment, and techniques to accomplish the requirements of the position.
  • Critical Thinking, Time Management, Written and Verbal Communication Skills

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to computer or information science
  • Four (4) years of experience in network Engineering and Administration
  • VMWare administration experience preferred
  • Significant years of direct network administration work experience and certifications may be considered in lieu of degree.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: CompTia Network +, CompTia Security+, and Cisco CCNA certification preferred.

Skills:

  • Advanced networking skills in organizing, installing, and supporting an organization's computer network, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), network segments, intranets, and other data communication systems
  • Advanced analytical skills when evaluating networks and systems to make sure that they perform reliably and to anticipate requirements as customers' needs change
  • Advanced security knowledge
  • Ability to describe problems and their solutions to non-IT workers
  • Ability to use analysis and critical thinking in order to assess processes and recommend effective and efficient solutions
