Spinning Babies® is a company that offers a unique approach to physiological birth for pregnant people, midwives and nurses, childbirth educators, and pregnancy-focused bodyworkers. Online and in-person, we help parents have comfort in pregnancy and ease in birth. Recognized worldwide, our team of Approved Trainers, Aware Practitioners, and Certified Parent Educators are teaching the Spinning Babies® approach in over 50 countries to birth professionals to use in and out of the hospital.
About this role:
Spinning Babies® is seeking a Director of Business Development with strong skills in business finance and strategy, and experience working the U.S. healthcare system to join our fast-paced company. This role expands the Company Leadership Team to strategize and position the company as it continues to grow through program development and partnerships in the US and internationally. The company is based in Minnesota, and team members primarily deliver services virtually.
Availability and Location:
This is currently an independent contractor position, estimated for 30 hours per week. Business hours are 9 am-5 pm Central Standard Time M-F, it is our preference that a majority of working hours are in this timezone. It is a remote position, with the exception of quarterly leadership meetings, as well as possible trainings, company events, and team gatherings.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide data-driven strategic plans to strengthen current revenue streams and develop future business avenues
Develop long-term partnership program directly with hospital systems to include training and programming
Enhance existing products and services through both streamlining organizational efficiencies as well as expanding market potential
Direct and Manage the company’s finance division to include:
Maintain accurate financial reports and drive the formalization of financial structures and processes across the company
Establish clear financial projections and future budgeting needs
Ensure international tax compliance in alignment with growth of the company
Manage direct staffing reports including the Accounting Administration Specialist
Work in close collaboration with the Director of Operations to:
Create future products, services, and partnerships
Provide support in managing the operations teams when needed
Be a thought partner and sounding board in visioning the future of the company
Desired Experience and Skills
Experience in financial management and business strategy, with preference to previous work in an entrepreneurial company
Knowledge of the U.S. Healthcare system and capable of guiding future expansion in hospital partnerships
Capable of data analysis and financial forecasting
A detail-oriented self-starter with strong work ethic and follow through
Open communicator and leader with proven managerial skills
Thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation is commensurate with experience estimated at around $70-80k/year based on a 30 hour working week
