Director, Advocacy

Bluejacket is hiring a Director of Advocacy to work with our firm’s partners to provide support to Bluejacket’s ever-growing client base. The Director will be given an immediate opportunity to contribute substantively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Major Responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead grassroots and grasstops outreach on issue advocacy campaigns in New York
• Coordinate and lead grassroots and grasstops outreach on electoral campaigns in New York
• Work alongside Bluejacket partners to assist on public affairs campaigns
• Interact directly with Bluejacket clients and their campaigns
• Prepare materials for new client development including drafting pitches, memos, and proposals
• Conduct research and prepare background memos on relevant campaigns and political issues as needed

Qualifications & Experience

Qualified applicants will have at least a Bachelor’s degree and must have strong writing skills. Experience on political campaigns or consulting is a plus. The ideal candidate will also possess the following:

• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Strong relationships with political and community leaders in New York
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, including ability to work independently
• Demonstrated interest in political and policy work
• Strong work ethic, flexibility, & willingness to occasionally work long and irregular hours, including evenings and weekends
• The ability to prioritize & execute multiple tasks under tight deadlines
• An eagerness to learn
• Track record of work performed with the highest standards of quality and excellence
• Superior proficiency in standard office technologies & software, such as Excel, Powerpoint, Google Suite, and Adobe Acrobat
