Smiles Like Yours is currently growing and expanding! We are hiring Life Coaches/Direct Support Professionals and Team Leads for our Adult Social Club, Residential Homes, Supported Living, and Community Engagement Divisions. All locations are within Henrico, Richmond, Midlothian and surrounding areas. All shifts are available Sunday through Monday.
Starting pay is $15/hr including paid lunch. Includes a $300 sign-on bonus after 120 days of employment. Additional pay may be provided based on experience and shift.
The DSP/Lead DSP is responsible for:
- Setup, execute and break down each event.
- Supporting individuals with assistance during events.
- Safely guiding and engaging individuals in the community to interact with others.
- Safely transporting individuals to and from events.
- Providing personal care during activities if necessary.
- Implementing and Documenting Individualized Support Plans and Progress Reports.
- Applying first aid, CPR and or Tova, when necessary.
At a minimum, these Community guides must possess the following knowledge, skills, abilities and attributes:
- Social, upbeat and have compassions for others.
- On time and have a good driving record.
- Able to work 8-hour shift on the weekends - Saturdays and Sundays.
- Must undergo and successfully pass a background check.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft word, Adobe, and other related reporting systems.
- Ability to observe, record, and report Individuals’ behavior, attitude, and physical condition.
- Ability to lift, squat and bend to set up activities on a consistent basis.
- Must be licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia and possess a good driving record.
Minimum qualifications: Must possess an education equivalent to graduation from high school and at least one-year of experience of working with individuals with intellectual and development disabilities.
Preferred candidates are those who are TOVA certified and CPR certified. Candidates who have experience using the system Care Tracker are preferred.
Job Type: Full-time, Part-time, & PRN
Salary: Base Pay $15.00 per hour; additional pay based on experience.
