What You Will Do:
- Work with in the Controls Engineering team to design, develop and maintain electrical products, focused on variable frequency drives, power quality equipment and associated systems, and services that meet business requirements.
- Research and specify single- and three-phase electrical products, as well as specify products to support sales and the tendering process.
- Design schematics, control schemes, testing scenarios for variable frequency drive systems for induction and permanent magnet motors.
- Understand the concepts of Edge computing and IoT systems.
- Understand and work teams which develop complimentary Azure cloud applications for equipment monitoring.
- Work closely with end-users to identify and solve problems, and to gather feedback for continuous improvement cycles.
- Perform testing to identify equipment faults and debugging to identify software defects.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time.
Minimum Qualifications:
- This safety-sensitive role may be subject to employer or customer drug testing.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer engineering or electrical engineering technology.
- 1 year experience; new graduates of accredited engineering schools are encouraged to apply
- Some traveling required.
- Familiarity or experience to include:
- industrial electrical design including CAD
- analog and digital circuits
- programmable logic controllers (PLC) and Human Machine Interfaces (HMI)
- Ladder Logic programming and diagrams
- IEC 1131 programming
- 1-phase and 3-phase power systems to 480VAC including power quality, IEEE 519 standards, and harmonic mitigation techniques
- Variable Frequency Drives – inverters, rectifiers
- Familiarity and willingness to learn:
- Linux
- Docker containers and deployment
- cloud server environments such as Azure, and IoT Hub
- Knowledge of the oil business and artificial lift a plus
- Understanding of software system architecture and design best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent computer skills
