We are looking for a highly qualified player-coach to join our Digital Product management team as Director of Web Product Experience strategy. The Director of Web Product Experience strategy leads the strategy and product management of a portfolio of digital marketing products used by consumers (e.g., NYL.com, agent locator, interactive tools) and NYL agents (e.g., agent website builder). This role will provide hands-on efforts and lead a small team to develop and manage data-informed product strategies, roadmaps, and business requirements to support user needs and improve marketing performance of NYL’s business activities. This role is responsible for clearly defining the strategy and informing business requirements, and partnering with a team of experts to seamlessly launch products and enhancements, mitigate risks, develop, and track performance metrics that align to key marketing goals.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Experience Design Strategy and Roadmap Development
    • Continuously monitor the competitive landscape and industry trends to inform product experience strategies and identify opportunities for product innovation, differentiation, and optimizations
    • Collaborate with market insights and UX/UI teams to conduct comprehensive market/customer and agent research and data analysis to gain insights into user needs, journeys, and pain points
    • Develop and communicate a clear and compelling strategies for a portfolio of products that align company goals, market trends, customer needs, and agent needs; partner with key stakeholders (such as Planning Leads and Product Owners) to design comprehensive roadmaps which consider all important dependencies and trade-offs
    • Communicate roadmap and key program enhancements with stakeholders across the organization (Field, Agency, Marketing) and continuously align stakeholders to a unified view of enhancements
    • Develop and manage business cases to support periodic investments, and collaborate with key partners to set product growth goals, objectives, and KPIs
    • Develop strategic approach, projects, and timelines that align to key business initiatives


  • Operations
  • Partner with key stakeholders to define, drive, and participate in the product management lifecycle from concept to release including methodologies, best practices, key processes, and workflows for marketing digital experiences across the portfolio in partnership with product owners and enablement partners in a scaled agile environment
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously prioritize product feature backlogs in collaboration with product owners
  • Partner with product owners to develop and maintain thorough product, business, functional, compliance, and data requirements documentation
  • Consult on new platforms requirements to deliver product experiences
  • As needed, provide feedback on user stories / acceptance criteria and participate in product QA / UAT activities
  • Establish, maintain, and report on product risks assessments and execute mitigation strategies in conjunction with business, technical, and enablement partners
  • Manage key stakeholders across the business and within marketing to ensure ongoing alignment, balance tradeoffs in prioritizations, and ensure delivery
  • Deliver presentations and communications for leadership across the organization (including the executive staff) on key product enhancements
  • Work with a cross-functional team of UX, UI, SEO, content, media and other key stakeholders to develop digital experiences and ongoing product enhancements
  • Manage, coach, and develop a small team of Product Managers and supervise contractors as needed

  • Analytics and Measurement
  • Partner with analytic partners to define and develop measurement strategies and plan to deliver on business KPIs with additional product level KPIs and health measures and set up regular reporting / dashboarding for appropriate monitor and interventions
  • Work with analytic partners to identify key insights in product usage, operations/engagement data, and other data to inform digital strategies, roadmaps, and enhancements
  • Collaborate with internal / external teams to develop, conduct, and analyze online tests (e.g., AB/Multivariate, usability) to identify future enhancement opportunities


Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as business, math, or engineering or equivalent experience
  • Master’s degree preferred


Experience

  • 7+ years in Digital Product management for web and digital marketing products (3 years in a management position)
  • 5+ years of experience developing web and digital marketing programs
  • 5+ years delivering Digital Products in a scaled agile environment
  • Experience with managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, very deadline-driven environment
  • Proven track record delivering large-scale web programs at a Fortune 500 company
  • Experience in financial services, life insurance, or another highly regulated industry is a plus
  • Experience with Adobe marketing stack and Salesforce solutions is a plus


Skills

  • Requires in-depth knowledge and/or breadth of experience web product management (UX, UI, Content, Accessibility, SEO, HTML, CMS, coding principles, etc.)
  • Requires in-depth knowledge of marketing technology stacks, content management systems, Digital Product/web analytics
  • Ability to lead and organize teams to deliver digital solutions
  • Proven leader with a team first mentality and the ability to build cross-functional relationships
  • Ability to use data and consumer insights to make strategic decisions
  • Ability to anticipate market or business issues and recommend improvements / enhancements
  • Solves complex digital challenges and makes strategic decisions to achieve program goals
  • Creative problem solver with proven track record of making sound business decisions
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Solves unique and complex problems; requires conceptual and innovative thinking to develop solutions
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas with others (junior to executives) and persuade audience to align to a single strategic point of view.
