Position Summary:
The Digital Marketing Manager is responsible for specific marketing activities to expand the visibility and understanding of the Girl Scout of Northern California mission and values. Their primary focus is designing innovative engagement campaigns for recruitment and retention through promotional projects, website graphics, email marketing, Digital Marketing, social media marketing, video, and print.
The Digital Marketing Manager is responsible for researching, qualifying, and coordinating marketing efforts to drive leads to our landing pages and promote brand awareness. They will work with a variety of departments to pull together content for marketing emails, social media content, website, and execute a Digital Marketing plan that is targeted and segmented to a variety of audiences. They will develop creative strategies to amplify digital presence on the website and across all social media platforms. Skills in graphic design, photography, and video production are a plus.
Job Accountabilities:
- In collaboration with the marketing team and council leadership, develop council plans and processes for utilizing Digital Marketing platforms to market and promote Girl Scouting.
- Plan, produce, and create digital content, specifically video, to be used across all our digital channels, increasing engagement with our audiences and stakeholders and increase visibility and understanding of the Girl Scout mission and programming, benefits for girl members and the need for adult volunteers.
- Develop creative ideas, suggest new innovative ways of delivering digital content, and keep up-to-date with the latest Digital Marketing trends.
- Work in collaboration with Council teams to build AEM & WordPress webpages, flyer templates, and council-wide campaigns for engagement strategies.
- Track ROI on all engagement campaigns and strategies.
- Work with service unit volunteers to ensure consistent use of social media in our communities.
- Monitor and moderate the council-owned social pages and groups.
- Identify opportunities in the council where Girl Scouts can partner with other agencies, organizations and social media outlets to expand the reach of our current marketing strategies.
- Participate actively in developing environments that foster diversity, equity, inclusion and access through words, actions and attitude. Ensure work plans are designed to enhance the diversity of our membership.
- Perform other duties as necessary or assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years of experience in marketing/communications and/or PreK-12 education preferred.
- Basic knowledge of web editing tools (ex: inserting links, modifying text, and adding images).
- Experience using marketing tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, MailChimp, AgoraPulse, Buffer, AirTable, Wordpress, Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Google Analytics, and project management applications such as Asana.
- Basic knowledge of Salesforce and Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Experience with creating automations and journey builder is a plus.
- Graphic design, photography and video production experience preferred.
- A self-starter with attention to detail, efficient time management and prioritization, and highly organized.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to write clear, concise, and professional correspondence and content. Strong editing skills are a plus!
- Ability to lift 25 lbs, unaided, and occasionally, up to 40 lbs.
- Must have access to personal transportation on a regular basis for business travel, valid driver's license, and proof of insurance.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bilingual (Spanish), or other languages and cultural awareness. Staff who are proficient in reading/writing and speaking in another language and use their dual-language skills in their assigned job duties will be eligible for a stipend up to a maximum of $3,000.
- Knowledge of and passion for the Girl Scout mission and its programs.
- Experience working with youth from diverse backgrounds and communities.
- Experience working with and training volunteers.
- Coding in HTML and CMS and creating and optimizing graphics for the web.
