Digital Assistant - Classical:
YourClassical® is a collection of curated classical music listening experiences and information produced by Minnesota Public Radio and American Public Media Group. YourClassical provides audiences with the music they love through terrestrial broadcasts and multiple web-based platforms.
As the Digital Assistant – Classical, you will be able to assist with the production of digital content for YourClassical Minnesota Public Radio and YourClassical. In this entry-level position, you will work across the classical department’s digital portfolio, including American Public Media’s national programs (Performance Today, SymphonyCast and Pipedreams), the YourClassical website and related social media. Duties include gathering information and readying it for the web; creating content; working with digital audio, photos and video; and helping with related administrative tasks. The YourClassical Digital team will provide training -- or the opportunity to hone any existing skills -- in web production, including writing online feature stories and posting on social media, as well as exposure to professional practices. You also might receive opportunities to work in other entry-level classical areas, such as serving as a board operator, assisting with live events and contributing to on-air productions.
This is a temporary role, 20-24 hours a week, January thru June 2024
Expected Minimum Compensation: $19.00/hr. Exact hourly rate determined by experience and education related to the role, organizational compensation structure and internal equity.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with a wide variety of online production tasks, from websites to podcasts to videos.
- Create buzz-worthy content that engages online audiences.
- Help wrangle the brand's presence on multiple social media accounts.
- Contribute to an "always on" approach to idea generation in all aspects of the above.
- Other duties as assigned, including opportunities to work in other classical areas, such as serving as a board operator.
Required Qualifications:
- Music coursework or related experience in musical activities, including performance
- Demonstrated interest and passion for classical music and digital media
- Familiarity with digital media and web publishing
- Ability to meet deadlines, work independently, and identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
- Strong organizational, research and tracking skills
- Ability to learn new computer programs and production tools
- Strong attention to detail
- Basic understanding of social media platforms
- Excellent language skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of classical music.
- Experience with digital media and web publishing, including production and content creation.
- Experience with posting for businesses/organizations on social media and managing their accounts.
- Excellent language skills, including proficiency in writing, editing and proofreading.
