Position Summary
The Development Associate (DA) provides professional support to assigned colleges and units to help meet fundraising objectives. Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) and working with assigned frontline development officers, the DA assists with the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors and prospects.
The DA works collaboratively across the College of Medicine, UI Health, and UIC Advancement as well as assigned colleges and units. They serve as a frontline representative of the university, interacting with volunteers, donors, and key leadership.
This position serves as a learning and training experience, structured to grow the talent of the DA such that after two to three years, they are prepared to be competitive as candidates for assistant director of development positions with high-end annual gift/low-end major gift portfolios.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- One year of work experience - preferencefor experience in development/fundraising environment.
- Experience in project management, preferred.
- Commitment to mission of College of Medicine and UI Health.
- Understanding and practice of a high standard of confidentiality and ethical information collection.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft suite of products and data base management.
