Position Overview
The Development Assistant is a key member of the Development team. Reporting to the Membership Manager, the Development Assistant is the primary and initial contact for customer service-related calls and emails, fielding questions and addressing ticketing issues from our members and donors. This role supports the growth of membership programs and works in close collaboration with other departments to provide a seamless customer experience during season announcements, on-sale dates, member events, and other times throughout the season.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Facilitate the administration and communication of all Member benefits, including:
- Processing Member ticketing requests and exchanges
- Preparing donor recognition materials including gift acknowledgements, program and mailing lists, and benefit tracking
- Preparing and maintaining an accurate donor database
- Ensuring benefit distribution for members at every level of support
- Supporting the Second Stage Events team at Member cultivation and fundraising events, as needed
- Perform other duties to support the Development Department, as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications:
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and attention to detail
- Ability to work proactively, with initiative
- Adept at verbal and written correspondence
- A customer service mindset; customer service experience preferred
- Strong computer and Microsoft Office skills; familiarity with Tessitura or other ticketing software strongly preferred
- Ability to work evenings and weekends, as assigned
- Experience in the performing arts preferred
Physical Requirements
Position requires long periods of sitting. While sitting in the office, employee is required to use hands, wrists, and fingers for keyboard and other office equipment. Majority of the work will be performed inside at room temperature.
Hours of Work
Second Stage’s working hours are 10 AM to 6 PM. Hours may also include nights and weekends, as assigned.
