Desktop Support Technician

Manitowoc County is seeking an individual to fill a Desktop Support Technician position. This position installs, supports and maintains desktop systems, software, and peripheral devices. This position will:

• Install, configure and assemble desktop systems and equipment.
• Provide consultation, assistance, and support for desktop/end system users. Troubleshoot problems.
• Provide recommendations for desktop system changes and upgrades to the Information Systems Manager.
• Work with vendors on problem resolution.
  
• Create and maintains documentation related to desktop systems in compliance with Department policy.
• Assign user and file security rights and permissions. Maintains accuracy, security, and integrity of all desk-top related systems.

A high school diploma, drivers license, and whatever combination of additional education and work experience provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
