Desktop Support Technician

What we are looking for:

Summary: The Desktop Support Technician will play a crucial role in our support team, providing exceptional customer service by focusing on finding the right solution for each client. The successful candidate will be a natural troubleshooter with the ability to escalate issues proactively when needed. This position will be located in our West Hartford CT office and may require occasional travel to client sites. On-call availability may be required, scheduled in advance.

Qualifications Include:

  • Preferred certifications: A+, Network +, Windows Desktop
  • Preferred work experience: Managed Service Provider or consulting environment
  • Preferred systems experience: ConnectWise, Labtech, ESET
  • 3+ years of recent, relevant experience in a helpdesk role providing PC support
  • Working knowledge of systems hardware, printers, scanners, and other peripheral devices
  • Exchange/Office 365 support and understanding of Active Directory
  • Strong critical and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Exceptional attention to detail and highly organized
  • Comfortable with multitasking
  • Vibrant and willing to contribute to a positive work atmosphere
  • Require a valid driver's license

Requirements for the position:

A successful Desktop Support Technician will be able to:

  • Troubleshoot hardware problems on desktop computers
  • Address routine desktop/laptop and basic network problems
  • Resolve routine smartphone and tablet issues
  • Work with Windows Desktops/Laptops (Windows 10 and 11) and Servers (2008, 2012/2016 R2 Standard)
  • Install and configure desktop operating systems
  • Provide basic support for Mac laptops and desktops
  • Administer basic network devices and hardware print servers
  • Learn about and work on new software products
