Dermatology Medical Assistant

Growing Dermatology specialty practice located in Royal Oak is seeking a Medical Assistant with Dermatology experience to join our team. Candidates must be people oriented, committed to providing exceptional patient care, organized, and able to multi-task and be part of a growing practice that prides itself on team building, professionalism, and providing patient-focused care. Experience

• Medical Assistant: 1-2 years - Required
• Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA) - Preferred
• MUST have prior Dermatology Experience
• MUST HAVE Mod Med (EMA) experience

Responsibilities include:

• Escorts patients to exam rooms in order of appointment times.
• Obtaining patient history, charting and scribing, with accuracy, calling regarding biopsy results, room set up and sterilization and being five steps ahead of the Physician.
• Obtains or updates medication lists.
• Straightens and cleans exam rooms after patient visits and deep clean at the end of the day.
• Accurate charting (ie: chief complaint (HPI), physical exam, and medications)
• Obtains patient Vitals - Stocks all exam rooms.
• Notifies clinical staff of supplies needed to avoid shortages
• Must be a team player. Must have strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize heavy workloads in a constantly changing environment.
• Must be able to maintain a daily routine to meet daily deadlines. Excellent communication skills.
• Flexibility and willingness to assist in any aspect of clinical operations.
• The ideal candidate would have an understanding of Dermatology terms and definitions unique to the field.
• Assist in surgical procedures. Understanding of surgical/sterile technique, or willingness to learn.
• Must have enthusiasm and possess excellent customer service skills
• All Medical assistants are cross trained with front desk scheduling and phone system.
