Deputy Project Manager

Position Duties included but not limited to:

  • Communicates daily with officers and supervisor to ensure that all tasks are performed to the specified standard
  • Conducts quality assurance audits and provides reports as specified or necessary to ensure the health of the contact and protective force
  • Develops courses of action to execute upon approval for any identified discrepancies of issues that would impact the quality of service provided to the client
  • Be intimately familiar with Excalibur Associates’ Employee Handbook and contract Performance Work Statement (PWS)
  • Oversee the development and execution of the master and work shift schedules
  • Ensure the compliance with all required certifications and licenses as specified by the scope of work and the contract
  • Prepare reports of all primary contract metrics and submit to the CPM as requested at various frequencies; to include providing timely and accurate operations report daily, weekly and monthly for to be used for operational and staffing management
  • In the absence of the CPM, the DPM will function as company liaison with the Contracting Officer's Representative and government personnel
  • Monitor and evaluate employee performance and ensures the administration of documentation and progressive disciplinary actions in compliance with the Excalibur Code of Business, the employee handbook and the Combined Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
  • Monitor the scheduling, tracking and reporting of officer training to include instructor led and virtual instruction.
  • Take actions to ensure remediation and/or retraining of all officer that fail to meet the specified knowledge, skills and abilities as specified in the contract requirements
  • Works with Human resources to conducts investigations and/or inquiries as needed to ensure compliance with the Excalibur Respect Policy
  • All additional or supporting duties as assigned by CPM

Job Requirements:

  • Five (5) years of successful security experience field supervision (civilian, community law enforcement, military service law enforcement, commercial or industrial guard service and three (3) years (within the last five years) of management experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid certification and licenses as required by the PWS.
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license
  • Strong relevant knowledge of the security industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have a customer service driven mindset
  • Ability to maintain and update work schedules
  • Ability to communicate effectively and present information to all levels of internal and external customers
  • Ability to plan for and adapt to rapidly changing situations
  • Equipment and Software proficiency in the following: fax/copier/printer, Microsoft Office products (specifically Excel and Word) and organization software as required to assist in the management and execution of the contract (Win Team & eHub)
  • Computer literate, with the ability to operate programs used (i.e., Office 365, TEAMS, Win Team, CCTV etc.).
  • Must be self-motivated, flexible, and an effective problem solver.
  • Available 24/7 for emergencies.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Has the ability to deescalate situations and provide the necessary guidance to remedy the situation.

Additional Requirements:

  • Certified: Firearms Instructor (Handgun).
  • Certified: Use of Force, Defensive Tactics, Arrest Control Instructor (H.F.R.G. preferred).
  • Certified: O. C. (Pepper Spray) Instructor
  • Certified: Expandable Baton Instructor (H.F.R.G. or Manondok preferred).
  • Certified: American Red Cross Instructor.

  • Must be able to successfully complete all fitness for duty evaluations and testing as specified in the PWS or organizational protocols.

Excalibur Associates, Inc. is hiring a Deputy Project Manager for our federal contract, USDA in Washington, DC. The Deputy Project Manager (DPM) reports directly to the Contract Program/Project manager (CPM) and is accountable for the oversite and status reporting of each phase of a project as assigned but within the scope of work, as defined by the contract. The DPM will ensure compliance and quality control at each phase and perform the necessary analysis to address resource and budget impact. Essentially, the DPM’s responsibility is to ensure that all tasks are completed correctly, on time and within budget. The DPM will work with day to day supervisors to identify and address any issues or discrepancies arising from within the security force before the problem escalates to higher authorities, as PM.


Salary Range: $85,000 to $95,000 per year depending on experience, knowledge, skills and abilities. Salary is performance based and is to be discussed during interview.
