Job Overview:
Under the direction of the Dental Director, the Office Manager is responsible for all aspects of the daily operations of the dental clinic administrative oversight, including management of clinical and support staff, financial/productivity issues, regulatory requirements, policies/procedures, and patient/provider relations. The Office Manager ensures that the dental clinic’s goals and objectives are met on a daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Responsibilities:
Manages dental providers and support staff and is expected to oversee staff work schedules and time using the tracking system; conduct annual performance evaluations and provide staff development and training; oversee recruitment, hiring, credentialing, and onboarding of new staff. Maintains necessary credentialing, licensure, and continuing education requirements.
The position also develops new dental policies and procedures, ensuing that the dental staff understand and adhere to the policies and procedures. Expectations also include the management of the clinic’s quality assurance and infection control programs. There is additional oversight for the protocols for the maintenance of all clinical equipment, and for determining the dental products that are used in the clinic.
Skills:
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards
- Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of modern dentistry and oral surgery
- Thorough knowledge of dental terminology and dental science
- Ability to supervise and train employees in organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments
- Knowledge of ethical and legal standards for the delivery of dental care
- Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements
- Ability to strategize collaboratively with the clinical leadership team to help grow the dental practice
- Knowledge of dental billing and collections
- Ability to create simple and complex workflows for the office
Experience:
- 5 years as a Dental Office Manager. Knowledge of community-based dental services.
- Previous management experience in an FQHC is preferred.
Education Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, health administration, or related field.
Salary:
- Commensurate with experience and education.
- Pay Grade 20
