Job DescriptionThe Dean of the College of Health Science is responsible for the quality and operations of the College of Health Science. The Dean will provide leadership to the College, identify, develop and maintain the quality of current and future programs, including procuring and maintaining program accreditation, program assessment efforts and curricular quality, and provide effective stewardship. Additionally, the Dean is expected to develop, implement and evaluate both short and long-term strategic plans, as well as develop strong external relationships to support Baker College’s vision and mission. A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL: Supervise program officials in the content area to ensure compliance with program policies and ensuring usage of consistent curriculum and assessment of course/program resources are updated and implemented as outlined for each program.Lead content experts in developing, implementing, and maintaining curriculum in the programs that respond to community needs, prepares students for success and meets the external requirements of specialized accrediting bodies.Lead, achieve and maintain program compliance with regulatory and specialized program accreditation standards.Lead development and implementation of key performance indicators relative to driving continuous improvement through both assessment processes and curricular efforts.Ensure compliance and submittals of programmatic annual assessment reports (i.e., Program/College retention; Program/College enrollment; Graduate Employment Percentage; Related Employment Percentage).Represent the college to key constituencies, including various local and state groups, to continually elevate the visibility and image of the College in the community.Organize, facilitate and convene program advisory board committees.Maintain and support programmatic community partnerships.Assist with increased internship opportunities within the community by maintaining a quality educational presence.Articulate the goals of the College in conjunction with the long-range plans of the institution.Teach in the content area of expertise in order to keep current in learning environments.Believe in and support the Student First Philosophy.Contribute to the overall success of Baker College.Act as a positive role model and brand ambassador on and off campus. Lafayette Ave, Royal Oak, Michigan 48067 RequirementsMINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Master’s Degree in Health Science field, required Completion, enrollment, or willingness to enroll in a Doctoral program, preferred Five years of experience in higher education, reflecting increasing levels or responsibilityThree years of experience in a leadership roleExperience with developing and/or facilitating curriculum and assessment developmentKnowledge of sound pedagogical principles and instructional design methodologiesDemonstrated ability to communicate and develop relationshipsDemonstrated experience in working with accreditation agenciesMust possess excellent oral and written communication skillsMust be computer literate
