Job Summary
The Data Analyst Intern is responsible for supporting, developing, and utilizing data sets to drive business decisions. This includes gathering, cleaning, analyzing, and visualizing data as well as implementing solutions. The Data Intern will work closely with the Decision Analytics Resources team (DART) to support various projects and initiatives and contribute to data-driven decision-making processes.
Work Performed and Job Requirements
- Collect and process data from multiple sources
- Conduct data analysis to identify trends and patterns
- Apply statistical techniques to analyze relationships and make predictions
- Assist with data/database management initiatives, including data processing, database design, integration, and/or data modeling
- Create compelling visualizations to communicate findings effectively
- Document and complete assigned tasks within project timelines
- Collaborate with DART team members and other stakeholders to understand project requirements
- Continuously improve skills and knowledge in data analytics tools and techniques
- Excel, SQL, SAS, Word, and PowerPoint
- All other duties as assigned
Education/Training
Working towards a bachelor’s in mathematics, statistics, computer science, or related field required.
Experience
0 – 1 years of experience in data analytics, visualization, or research required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong analytical skills
- Proficiency in data analytics tools, such as SQL, Excel, or PowerBI
- Familiarity with data visualization tools
- Knowledge or training in computer programming language
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt to fast-paced environments and learn new concepts quickly
- Ability to handle confidential information in a discrete manner

Computer, printer, copier, scanner, fax, telephone, web conferencing.
Working Conditions
Work is sedentary in nature and performed in an office environment. Work may be stressful at times.
Physical/Mental Demands
Work requires hand dexterity for office machine operation; stooping, climbing, and bending to files and supplies; mobility to complete errands; stand/sit for up to eight hours each day; ability to communicate clearly when using the telephone; requires sitting; standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, and twisting at times; moderate levels of stress.
