About The Role:
This is an exceptional opportunity for a Microsoft SQL Database Developer to play a pivotal role in the architecture and programming of databases to support the company's web-based applications. Location: Onsite or Hybrid
Responsibilities:
- Develop database objects and structures for data storage, retrieval, and reporting according to project specifications
- Implementing and testing database design and functionality, and tuning for performance
- Providing support to developers and interfacing with business users to ensure the database is satisfying technical and business requirements
- Designing and developing back-end database interfaces to web
- Developing and executing ETL processes
- Perform the duties of a database administrator
Requirements:
- A thorough understanding of relational database theory and practice
- Analytical thinking and adept at problem-solving
- Strong communication skills
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field is required, although strong database experience might be substituted in some cases
- Knowledge of major enterprise database programs, including Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle or IBM DB2, is required; professional certifications such as Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDA) or Oracle Database Administrator Certified Professional (ODACP) are a plus – strong preference for Microsoft technologies (SQL Server 2008R2 thru 2017, as well as Microsoft’s Business Intelligence Suite of reporting services)
- Experience in Internet technologies also is valuable
- Very strong understanding of Indexes and keys (Primary, foreign, constraints, clustered, simple, pros/cons), views, stored procedures, functions, security, transactions, normalization/denormalization, bulk operations, SSIS, triggers, temp tables
Preferred Experience:
- Working knowledge of C#, CLI, and the use of .net within the MS SQL environment
- Understanding of data warehouse concepts and techniques
- Use of R and Python within the database environment
- Healthcare domain experience, including health plans, physician organizations, hospitals, laboratories, and pharmacy benefit management companies
- Experience with HEDIS
- Experience with Healthcare EDI standards, including HL7. HIPAA 5010 and various healthcare code sets (ICD9, ICD10, NDC, LOINC, etc.)
Compensation:
Annual Salary - $120,000 to $145,000 - DOE
