JOB SUMMARY:
Directs all engineering aspects of assigned projects related to design, development, and supply of valve actuators and other equipment for Defense Actuation applications. Provides support to planning, purchasing, manufacturing, quality, contracts, programs, and assembly departments, as required, including proposals needing engineering inputs, engineering changes (ECOs), vendor support, quality audits and corrective action boards, and dispositioning of non-conforming hardware. Provide the primary technical support to Defense Actuation Customers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Preparation of design drawings and procedures to meet order requirements
Preparation and review of design and qualification reports
Directs qualification test programs and any other testing program contracted by Defense Actuation Customers
Prepare the technical instructions for assembly and test operations ensuring contract requirements are fulfilled
Works with assembly and test technicians to resolve production stops as they arise
Review of purchase order technical requirements including specifications for compliance with proposed design
Provides support to contracts, programs, planning, purchasing, manufacturing, quality, assembly departments, as required, from proposal through delivery
Provides the technical interpretation of applicable specifications and codes imposed on deliverable items
Prepare and, if applicable, make the appropriate technical submittals to Defense Actuation Customers
Resolve technical issues during product flow from Engineering Release through product shipment
Provide engineering support to vendors and customers
Designs fixtures and tooling to aid in inspection, assembly, and testing
Designs electromechanical valve actuators, with a focus on power transmission and enclosure integrity
Takes a design prototype from concept to production
Creates and maintains Item Masters, Bill of Materials and Routings in Oracle
Disposition of non-conforming material
Supports bid and proposal activities Defense Actuation Products
Notify program manager of any potential issues that may affect progress of the project
Monitor hardware through TR Operations and with our suppliers to ensure there are no technical issues stopping product flow
Travel to customers and vendors as required
Prepares Engineering Ordering Specifications (EOS) and Procurement Specifications (PRS) adequately to ensure all technical requirements are sufficiently passed to suppliers
Must be a US citizen
Additional responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor
JOB QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of products and industry requirements
Working knowledge of applicable product specifications
Knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite, SolidWorks, AutoCAD and ANSYS
Must possess the mental capacity to comprehend information provided daily and make own decisions
EDUCATION / TRAINING:
Four (4) year Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) or equivalent experience
Knowledge of GD&T and ASME Y14 5 dimensioning and tolerancing standards preferred
Experience in electromechanical systems and power transmission knowledge preferred
