Database Administrator/PL SQL Developer
Provides all activities related to the administration of computerized databases. Projects long-range requirements for database administration and design in conjunction with other managers in the information systems function. Designs, creates, and maintains databases in a client/server environment. Conducts quality control and auditing of databases in a client/server environment to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data. Advises users on access to various client/server databases. Designs, implements, and maintains complex databases with respect to JCL, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods. Applies knowledge and experience with database technologies, development methodologies, and front-end /back-end programming languages (e.g., SQL). Performs database programming and supports systems design. Includes maintenance of database dictionaries, overall monitoring of standards and procedures, file design and storage, and integration of systems through database design.
Ability to manage and perform the following tasks in an Oracle Environment:
- Create, Edit, Maintain stored procedures and scripts – requires excellent knowledge of PLSQL
- Perform DB turning
- Perform DB admin tasks including architecture development activities
- Administer STIGS
- Perform Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) Activities
- Translate requirements into logical database designs
- Oversee all environments (Dev, Stage, Prod) for normalization of tables and data
- Gather and monitor audit logs ensure appropriate actions and loading into SPLUNK
- Support migrations
- Support installation, configuration and upgrading of Oracle Server software and related products.
- Evaluation and testing of new Oracle features and Oracle related products
- Create and document backup and recovery policies and procedures
- Provide appropriate cyber controls
- Oracle provided Critical Patch Upgrade (CPU) maintenance
- Develop, test, implement databases across multiple platforms, technologies and computing environments
- Assist in the resolution of Oracle DB problems
Skills/Experience/Certifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a DBA with demonstrated experience in ORACLE and PLSQL. PLSQL is a required skill in sustaining and supporting enhancement related to the application.
- 5 years of experience providing data analytics and reporting
- Oracle Label Security knowledge desired, not required.
- Knowledge and experience of DOD DB Security Practices and Regulations.
Certification Requirements:
- DoD Approve 8570 Baseline Cert: Category IAT Level II: Security+CE
- Computing Environment: Oracle OCA, Oracle Azure DBA, Azure AA or Azure SAE
