JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for data analysis and management reporting. Utilizes software to generate metrics and develops actionable recommendations. Provides support to research team or management by collecting, analyzing data and reporting results. Collaborates with various department and teams such as marketing, finance and IT to achieve business results. Requires a bachelor’s degree in an area of specialty and two (2) to four (4) years’ experience in the field or in a related area. Familiarity with a variety of the business’s concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision of a manager. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the Seneca Gaming Corporation’s policies and procedures, internal Control Standards and objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review and evaluate company database(s). Identify data sources, constructs data decomposition diagrams, provides data flow diagrams and documents the process.
- Work in conjunction with Application Support, Technical Services and / or vendors to resolve database issues.
- Write reports as requested by various departments. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the industry. Rely on experience, judgment and business guidelines to perform the functions of the job. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected. This position may be required to conduct training for end users on report writing using the business’s reporting writing tools.
- Maintain an audit trail of all reported problems in a database documenting items such as the description of the incident, the date reported and by whom, the actions taken to resolve the issue, and the resolution.
- Assist with the testing validation of data in all reports generated and analysis provided.
- Maintain a working knowledge and practical application of information security principles and practices as they relate to their job responsibilities. Proactively assess potential risks and vulnerabilities within the environment.
- Maintain a current understanding of all policy and guidelines regarding information security including the Seneca Gaming Corporation Acceptable Use Policy. Understand and comply with all information security policies and procedures at all times.
- Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicates in a pleasant, friendly and professional manner at all times. Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors, managers and staff.
- Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
- Must complete all required SGC Training programs within nine (9) months from commencement of employment.
- Attend all necessary meetings.
- Duties, responsibilities, requirements and expectations pertaining to this job are subject to change as needed. Hours are determined by a 24-hour schedule.
Position Requirements
Each position has varying minimum qualifications. In the absence of fully qualified candidates, some requirements may be waived.
Education/Experience:
- Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment.
- Bachelor degree or experience equivalent to the completion of four (4) years of college coursework in computer science, management information systems, or a closely related field or equivalent work experience.
- Must have at least two (2) years in the field or related area.
- Experience with report writer software required, Showcase report writer preferred.
- Strong report writing and analytical abilities required.
- Previous experience working in a casino is preferred but not a requirement.
- Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.
- Previous customer service experience required.
- Previous experience providing IT support required.
