Job Description
U.S. Bank is seeking the position of Data Scientist in Minneapolis, MN.
Essential Responsibilities:
The Data Scientist will be responsible for building and delivering end-to-end and distributed solutions leveraging AI and machine learning technologies for the Payments industry – such as, advanced solutions for fraud and/or credit risk mitigation, acquisition & retention optimization. Duties include: collaboratively identifying opportunities by partnering with product managers, marketers, Risk/Fraud experts, designers, IT, data engineers and regulatory compliance leaders; leading the design, development and deployment of cutting-edge applications leveraging Machine Learning and Analytics – independently and by leading a team of Machine Learning researchers, business and technology partners; collaborate and lead cross-functional teams to build, validate, test and deploy services leveraging advanced ML and Analytics solutions; experiment, hands-on, with proof-of-concept prototypes – for fast iteration and experimentation; and working within an agile software engineering methodology and collaborative team development architecture—both remote and local. Basic Qualifications:
Requires a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Physics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Mathematics plus 2 years of experience as a Data Scientist or closely related occupation.
Required Skills/Experience:
Must possess 2 years of experience in each of the following: building and maintaining machine learning models for fraud prevention across consumer banking and credit card products; developing machine learning models to solve business problems; SQL, Hive, Python, Scala, Spark, Tensorflow, and Hadoop. Telecommuting available anywhere in US. HQ at 800 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis, MN 55402. Base pay range may vary if an offer is made for work in a different location. Pay Range: $96,283 - $213,500.
