The Data Scientist is part of the Advanced Technology Group (ATG) that focuses on customer-centric learning and applying advanced technologies for commercialization throughout the various business units of Winnebago Industries. This position establishes data-analytics practices and tools for RV and marine products.
Specific duties include: (1) determine the analytics tool sets and processes required for the data products; (2) understand the business needs and develop different data analytics capabilities and visualization; (3) develop data flow and process for setting up data for the analytics; (4) develop predictive analytics models for RVs and boats; (5) develop analytics solutions for connected vehicle, autonomy and electrification in collaboration with Advanced Technology group and Business Units; (6) develop external relationships to bring latest data solutions to Advanced Technology Group; (7) develop test procedures and execute the test methodology; (8) work with appropriate analytics tools and statistical modeling; (9) set-up a data-analytics discipline and process; (10) implement machine learning modeling techniques and experience visualizing model outputs; (11) work on analytical problems including data gathering, exploratory analysis, cleaning, and feature engineering using large-scale complex data sets using pandas; (12) collaborate, maintain and develop the AI product for achieving the most impact in predicting production and recommend process variables to optimize operations and increase production; (13) perform root cause analysis, and statistical data analysis to find any drifts that can cause the model performance to depreciate, and monitor performance metrics of the models; (14) execute design of a Power BI dashboard to help display visualizations and prioritize critical anomalies; and (15) work with the following tools and technologies: PySpark, MLOps, Python, mlflow, MS Excel, Azure DevOps, DataBricks, PowerBI, Matlab, Simulink, Linear Regression Modeling, Neural Networks design and development. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering, or a related field and 5 years related (progressive, post-baccalaureate) experience. Must also have 24 months of experience with each of the following: (1) working on analytical problems including data gathering, exploratory analysis, cleaning, and feature engineering using large-scale complex data sets using pandas; (2) collaborating, maintaining and developing the AI product for achieving the most impact in predicting production and recommending process variables to optimize operations and increase production; (3) performing root cause analysis, and statistical data analysis to find any drifts that can cause the model performance to depreciate, and monitoring performance metrics of the models; (4) executing design of a Power BI dashboard to help display visualizations and prioritize critical anomalies; and (5) working with the following tools and technologies: PySpark, MLOps, Python, mlflow, Matlab, and Simulink.
