The R&D Data Scienceteam at J&J is making a tangible impact on how we discover and develop medicines and vaccines to help improve lives of millions. The team applies a diverse set of data and tools, along with platform solutions to answer impactful analytical questions and provide insights to strategy makings, from early stage of drug discovery to supporting access to our solutions.
This role is virtual and sits within the Data Science Product team which collaborates with multidiscipline teams to translate high level customer needs into scalable data pipelines to advance analytics and advise strategy making across multiple disease areas and global functions across R&D.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understand business requirements and drive development of strategies for challenging questions.
- Work collaboratively with multiple teams to build Analysis Ready Data (ARD) from Clinical trial data for AI/ML and Discovery data analysis.
- Perform programming tasks to map, integrate and transform data to common data model.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
- Currently pursuing Bachelors, Masters in computer science, Data Sciences, bioinformatics, engineering , or related degrees
- Possess a strong understanding of Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computational Biology, Biomedical Informatics, Public Health Informatics or related field as shown by current or prior coursework
- Be curious and dare to challenge the status quo
- Possess strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills (technical and/or business)
- Have experiences on exploring and conducting analyses on large datasets
- Strong interests in exploring and critical thinking of innovative data and platforms research and proposing ideas in support of Data Science use cases
PREFERRED:
- Prior independent or research experiences on projects using data from clinical trials, manufacture, supply chain, etc.
- Demonstrate knowledge of health outcomes databases (claim, EMR/EHR, survey, observation studies) or clinical operations.
- Experience with relevant disease biology in cancer, immunology, neuroscience, cardiovascular, or infectious disease.
- Familiar with Python, SQL, AWS cloud-based tools.
