Position Components
In this role, you will
- Design and implement platform components that are well-defined, modularized, secure, reliable, reusable, diagnosable, and actively monitored.
- Build required infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from various data sources using AWS and database technologies.
- Perform programming tasks to support in-house data tools, platforms, pipelines, and workflows.
- Produce clean, efficient, and well-documented code based on specifications.
Qualifications
Required:
- Be currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Engineering, or related degrees.
- Possess a strong understanding of Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computational Biology, Biomedical Informatics, or related field as demonstrated by current or prior coursework.
- Possess strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills (technical and/or business).
- Proficiency in Python or R programming language.
- Can work individually (independently) as well as on a team.
- Be highly organized, and able to manage multiple tasks.
- Candidates must be available to work full-time during the internship.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and does not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1-B status) now or in the future.
Preferred:
- Proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases, and database schema/structure design.
- Coursework or background in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Engineering, and other life sciences.
- A working knowledge of web application design and programming.
- Experience with relevant disease biology in cancer, immunology, neuroscience, cardiovascular, or infectious disease.
