E&I is on a data transformation journey to build data analytics as a source of competitive advantage. The E&I Business Intelligence Team is leading this transformation by applying modern data technology to high value business problems across E&I. Advanced analytics (e.g., ML & AI) will be a key driver of long-term value as part of this transformation. As such, we are currently seeking a Data Scientist Lead to collaborate with stakeholders across the entire E&I organization to build and execute on a portfolio of high value data science projects. The candidate is expected to lead a team of 3-4 Data Scientists across the globe and provide functional guidance to 10 other Data Scientists across the organization. The Data Scientist Lead will play a key role in advancing E&I's data science maturity in alignment with DuPont's enterprise data strategy. The ideal candidate will have a track record of successfully identifying and implementing data science initiatives in the context of an organization with low data science maturity.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to identify high value data science opportunities across all E&I LOBs & functions.
- Assess technical feasibility of opportunities through exploratory data analysis and preliminary modeling.
- Lead execution high priority projects in collaboration with business stakeholders, E&I data engineers / scientists, and internal/external contract resources.
- Coach business teams on change management / capability development for capturing value from production data science solutions.
- Provide guidance to data engineering teams on data priorities to support future exploratory & production data science work.
- Educate business leadership and stakeholders on the value of data science through case studies of successful E&I data science projects.
- Implement work product in DuPont's Azure environment (Databricks, Azure Datalake, Azure Devops) using Python and SQL languages.
Your Qualification Profile:
- Strong understanding of DuPont E&I business processes and related data across R&D and Integrated Ops
- Strong understanding of fundamental data science principles and methodologies
- Track record of successful implementation of data science projects in the context of an organization with low data science maturity.
- Skills with azure tech stack for data science. Azure Databricks, Azure DataLake, Python (Pandas, SKL). Spark (PySpark, Spark SQL) is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Information Systems, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience working in a similar global role
- Previous people leadership experience is required
Please note this is a hybrid role and candidates must live within a commutable distance to one of the site locations. Employees usually work 3 days onsite and 2 days remote
