POSITION SUMMARY

As the Data Governance & Innovation Principal, you will oversee the Liberty Packaging business unit’s master data and lead technology-driven innovation initiatives that contribute to the overall growth and efficiency of the business. This full time, hybrid position is located at LDI’s corporate headquarters in New Hope, MN and reports directly to the Chief Information Officer.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Master Data Management:

• Develop and implement strategies for maintaining accurate and consistent data across various locations and systems.
• Establish and enforce Data Governance policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve data quality issues.
• Ensure a single source of truth for critical business data.
• Lead data cleansing and normalization efforts to enhance data quality and usability.
• Define and maintain data standards, classifications, and hierarchies.

Technology Innovation:

• Research and stay abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and packaging industry best practices.
• Identify opportunities for technological innovation that can drive business process improvements, operational efficiency, or competitive advantage.
• Lead the ideation and evaluation of innovative tech solutions.
• Participate in the implementation of innovative solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to intimately understand the packaging business and the customers. 
• Create business cases and develop business plans for technology-driven initiatives.

Project Management:

• Plan, execute, and monitor MDM and technology innovation projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives, as well as technology goals and objectives.
• Manage the business side of project timelines, resources, and deliverables.
• Mitigate risks and address any roadblocks or challenges that arise during project execution.
• Collaborate with IT teams and business units to ensure seamless integration of solutions.

Change Management & Training:

• Develop change management strategies and communication plans to ensure smooth adoption of new MDM processes and innovative technologies.
• Provide training and support to end-users to facilitate effective utilization of MDM tools and innovative solutions.
• Monitor user feedback, gather insights, and make continuous improvements to enhance user experience and system usability.
• Other duties, as assigned. 

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, or a related field. 
• 7+ years’ experience in Master Data Management, or related discipline.
• Proven experience in driving data quality improvement.
• Strong understanding of technology trends and their applications within the packaging industry.
• Experience in driving successful, technology-driven innovation initiatives.
• Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• Master’s degree.
• Experience in a manufacturing industry preferred.
