ENTERPRISE DATA GOVERNANCE MANAGER
Work Location: Work from Home or Office for Your Day
Position Description
As the Enterprise Data Governance Manager, you will be responsible to support the development and implementation of the Enterprise Data Governance (EDG) framework focusing primarily on metadata, data quality, stewardship, policies, and procedures. You will collaborate with a variety of cross-functional partners, including the Data Governance Committee, data stewards, Health Care Economics analysts, and other stakeholders to monitor and evaluate adherence to Data Governance procedures to drive business decisions and increase the data literacy of business users. Collaborate with the Information Technology (IT) department to optimize user adoption of our metadata management and data quality tools.
• Manage, select, train, develop, and evaluate staff. Monitor workflow and provide performance feedback.
• Partner with IT to develop, implement, and lead UCare's Enterprise Data Governance strategy.
• Develop, implement, and oversee the metadata management software. Develop policies and procedures for documenting best practices, auditability, traceability of modifications made to the software to ensure the highest level of data quality as increasing data literacy across the organization.
• Acquire and maintain a functional understanding of key processes creating or consuming data within specified domain and the ability to determine the relationships and usage across the enterprise.
• Mentor, train, and guide Business Stewards assigned to the Enterprise Data Governance strategy by focusing on engagement as well as building domain competency within the team.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Reporting Manager and Enterprise Data Manager to ensure Data Governance principles are applied to Business Intelligence (BI) reporting and Enterprise Data Ecosystems development.
• Communicate with EDG Committee, Business Stewards, and business stakeholders to increase transparency regarding the status of the Enterprise Data Governance strategy initiatives, to resolve data needs, and to facilitate error resolution.
• Collaborate with IT department to monitor and maximize the performance of the EDG tools.
• Other projects and duties as assigned.
Education
BA/BS in business, technology, or related field preferred. Demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Required Experience
Five or more years of experience in Data Governance, data management, metadata/master data management, data quality, policy creation, data standards and controls. At least two years of management, supervisory, and/or leadership experience.
Preferred Experience
Intermediate Microsoft Office and SQL development skills. Ability to influence across functional boundaries to achieve goals without direct control over resources.
