We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Data Entry Specialist to join our administrative office. This is an in-office position. In this position, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks requiring data analysis, in-depth evaluation, and sound judgment. As our Data Entry Specialist, your daily duties will include maintaining documentation for billing, medical records and documentation organization.
To succeed in this role, you must possess in-depth knowledge of billing software and medical insurance policies. The ideal candidate must also be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, as communicating with clients and various insurance agents will form a large part of the job.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the patient’s medical information is accurate and up to date.
- Preparing bills and invoices, and documenting amounts due for services.
- Organize documentation and upload into patient charts.
- Examining patient bills for accuracy and requesting any missing information.
- Provide medical records to insurance companies and chart files.
- Coordinates and directs the activities of the billing operations following overall departmental protocol; and that State, Federal, and payer requirements, guidelines, and regulations are complied with.
- Remain updated on HIPAA and all other health information management issues and regulations.
- Give report of all concerns and issues to management for prompt necessary action.
- Extracts meaningful data and create reports to as need for customer and management team.
- Other duties assigned by management to support billing and RCM departments.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing or similar role.
- High school diploma or GED required
- Solid understanding of billing software and electronic medical records.
- Must have the ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Outstanding problem-solving and organizational abilities.
- Ability to commute to Irvine, CA (92614)
- Deep knowledge and understanding of revenue cycle, collections and payment posting, medical billing, Medicare and Medicaid, and third-party payers.
- Thorough knowledge and working experience of CPT and ICD9 codes, UB04 claim forms, HCFA 1500, HIPAA, medical terminology, appeal processes, billing and insurance regulations, and insurance benefits.
