Job Summary:
A Data Entry Logging & Mail Clerk ‘s responsibilities are divided into 60% Data Entry Logging and 40% Mail Clerk. A Data Entry Logging Clerk is responsible for entering patient demographic information into multiple computer systems. In the Dermatopathology Laboratory the job entails deciphering hand written demographics and clinical data, entering that information into our Laboratory Information System, (LIS), create an encounter in EPIC, transfer the visit MRN number into our Lab’s LIS and confirm all information across all systems is accurate. A Mail Clerk is responsible for packing completed biopsy reports into envelopes which are grouped by courier route for delivery the following day. Sending requested supplies with the courier, such as requisitions, biopsy bottles and DIF kits is also the responsibility of the Mail Clerk. An extremely high-volume Laboratory, speed and accuracy is essential, as referring physicians are expecting biopsy results within a 24-48-hour turnaround time. The Data Entry Logging Clerk and Mail Clerk, though not patient facing, is part of a team that delivers an exceptional patient experience through ensuring biopsy report accuracy, biopsy report and supply delivery accuracy and timeliness.
Job Responsibilities:
- Enter patient biopsy information into Laboratory Information Syste
- Find the patient or create new patient registration in EPI
- Confirm client information is correct.
- For outside consultations, enter referring lab information in the gross description
- Preparing Mail and Biopsy supplies
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalency is required.
- A minimum of 1 year relevant experience.
- Demonstrated organizational and problem solving skills, and the ability to set priorities among multiple competing objectives, tasks and initiatives is required.
- Candidate must be well organized and be able to manage a demanding workload and moderately complex cases in an accurate and timely manner.
- Candidate must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Working proficiency of Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) or similar software is required and an ability and willingness to learn new systems and programs.
Hourly Rate Ranges: $17.93 - $26.44
Note: Our salary offers will fall within these ranges based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, skill set, training and education.
