Background:
Data Entry keypunches data from paper logs after they are reviewed by data debriefers, runs checks on the data and corrects keypunch errors as necessary.
Job Description:
- Accurately and efficiently enter values from paper fisheries observer logs into a
- proprietary computer system.
- Meet Observer Program milestones of entering trip data within 60 days of date land of trip.
- Enter data related to acoustic pingers on gillnet trips within 60 days of date land of trip.
- Assist with the tracking of age structure samples by comparing the number of samples with values entered into the tracking database table.
- Keep the Data Quality Program Manager informed of progress and any issues encountered.
- Work with team leaders to verify inconsistencies and solve data recording problems as needed.
- Assist with routine audits and checks as needed.
Requirements:
- Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience and requirements for degrees or dredentials
- The demonstrated ability to enter numerical data with great and sustained accuracy. Text Data Entry speed is less critical. Both keypad and text entry skills will be tested
- A general knowledge of computer use, and willingness to learn
- Ability to track progress, to work to deadlines, and to ask for help when necessary
- Program planning and management in a team environment
- Developing performance metrics and milestones
- Working with diverse interagency teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Developing and monitoring resource investment strategies
- Working with marine fisheries information programs or other science-based programs
- Proficient in current MS Office software programs
- Proficient in the primary G Suite tools include Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, Calendar, Google+, Sites, and Hangouts.
Skills/certifications and credentials:
- Valid drivers license.

Pay: $49,500.00 - $55,000.00 per year
