The Data Enablement Analyst II partners with business and technical stakeholders to increase data literacy, provide guidance on information-related issues, and ensure the organization has the appropriate governance in place related to the management and usage of business information. This role is responsible for understanding the information landscape of the enterprise, discovering and modeling the organization's information inventory, and providing guidance to business and technical stakeholders with respect to data acquisition, usage, sharing and destruction.
JOB DUTIES
- Promote Data Enablement practices across the organization
- Collaborate with business and technical data citizens to maintain an active understanding of GMF information assets and related processes and activities
- Analyze existing data governance activities and recommend enhancements to align with GMF policies and standards
- Identify data governance process gaps and work with stakeholders to design solutions to address them
- Recommend and develop data governance policies and standards organization-wide
- Participate in GMF policy and standard development and review
- Lead implementation of Data Enablement practices and processes
- Gather, document and publish Data Governance metrics
- Assist in the development and delivery of Data Enablement education for the GMF enterprise
- Serves as the steward of the metadata repository by assisting in the gathering and articulation of metadata, planning testing of metadata in systems, and training staff to properly create and manage metadata
- Apply agile values and principles, and help drive the team and organization to higher levels of agile maturity
- You have a working knowledge of various data storage services, including relational databases, content management repositories, shared file systems, etc.
- You are knowledgeable of various information repository types, including metadata, CMDB, business glossary, etc.
- You possess knowledge of data governance best practices and standards and Working knowledge of application and data modeling languages and tools
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills
- You can work on multiple projects and priorities
- You have strong analytical skills, data querying (e.g. SQL) & reporting skills
- You are able to manage business and technical relationships with internal and external partners at all organizational levels
- You can develop and interpret technical documentation and models, including software and database specifications and identify abstract concepts from concrete designs or implementations
- You are able to elicit requirements from stakeholders, design high-level solutions to address business or technical issues, and guide implementation to completion
- You have exposure to cloud data platforms such as Azure or AWS and can work effectively with minimal supervision
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent work experience required
- 3-7 years of experience in a technical, analytical role, or equivalent required
