The Position
We are seeking a bright and motivated Data Analytics/Science Intern to join the team in Connecticut. As a value member of our technology team, you will learn and grow in an international environment, which will help you build a remarkable career! In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in various reinsurance business areas. Please Note, this role will be in a hybrid work environment with the need to be in the office one to two days during the week.
Job Responsibilities

• Working in collaboration with the business to identify their critical data-related issues preventing them from reaching full efficiency (e.g. absent of system integrations and dependencies on manual processes)
• Translating those business problematics into a technical language in order to develop a well-thought data model transforming raw data into insightful and clear data (SQL, Python, Power BI)
• Implementing a business-oriented Power BI dashboard with a strong focus on the User Interface. It should deliver speedy information in a clear and concise way to the business
• Presenting the results to the business

Desired Skills/Experience

• Understanding of Cloud technologies and platforms
• Good understanding of databases and information systems
• Knowledge of tools like Automation Anywhere and Alteryx

Required Skills/Experience

• Very good with Excel, SQL, Python and Power BI
• Affinity for learning and growing
• Fluent in English

Education

• Enrolled University student at the time of the internship
• Currently pursuing a degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Engineering/Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or any relevant area

Location & Work Arrangement:

• Hybrid- 1-2 days per week in the Farmington, CT office ideally, but open to the right candidate being remote and visiting the Farmington office for a few days to onboard.
• Hours 9-5 E

Timeline
Arch summer internship positions will be posted from November 2023 - March 2024 and will be unposted when filled.
Pay
For individuals assigned to or hired to work in Morristown, NJ, the hourly rate is $22 to $26 as of the time of posting. The breadth in the range exists to accommodate students in specialized programs such as actuarial candidates and graduate students. Any actual rate offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, along with the education & qualifications of the candidate. The above range may be modified in the future. Intern position is eligible for select Arch benefits.
