As big data experts, the company specializes in software engineering, data management, augmented reality, internet of things, and cloud computing. With their Innovation Lab, they solve customers' data and technology challenges using modern technologies.

A Data Analyst/Scientist is needed to help implement NLP, text analytics, machine learning, prediction, and simulation modeling for a client. The team needs your help analyzing data and answering questions. Because you don't know what's going on, the environment can be very exciting. You have different types of challenges at different times, so you get to be the hero of the day!  This is an onsite position in Dayton, OH.

Your Job Responsibilities:

• Help define project objectives and strategies by applying analytic techniques.
• Leading and guiding client and project teams around the methodology.
• Analytically solve complex problems that require a deep understanding of methodologies and principles.
• Build and deploy machine learning models to provide tactical and strategic insights.

Requirements:

Must Have’s:

• Advanced experience in corporate IT environments.
• Minimum of 5 years Machine Learning (ML) experience.
• 8 years of experience with a master’s degree OR 5 years with a PhD in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, or Engineering. 
• Must have or be willing to obtain Secret Clearance (this requires US Citizenship)  

Self-Assessment Questions:

• Do you have experience in machine learning?
• Do you have or are willing/able to obtain a Secret clearance?
• Do you have advanced experience in data presentation?
• Do you have a related M.S. or Ph.D. degree?

Tech Stack: 

• Python, PySpark, Databricks, HDFS
• Nifi, Tableau, DevOps, Apache Atlas, Kylo, AWS EMR, RDS, Athena
• AWS Sagemaker, Athena
• Open-source ML software, like SciKit Learn, SparkML, TensorFlow, Horovod, Petastorm

Additional Information:

• Company has two divisions: Government (Air Force, Navy, Army) and Commercial (Retail, Commerce, Healthcare, Banking, Insurance, Energy)
• Has been in a high growth phase for the past 2-3 years.
• Smaller team: 1 other Data Scientist
• Company provided training opportunities!

Interview Process:

• This is an onsite position in Dayton, OH.
• Only candidates who are US citizens or green card holders will be invited for a client interview.
• Interviews within 1-2 weeks:
  • One 30-minute interview with Director of Data Science
  • One 30–45-minute technical interview with two data scientists

Contract Terms:

• Salary: $120,000 - $140,000
• On site at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base 3+ days/week
• Long term, full-time, permanent, unlimited assignments.
• Relocation is not included/not supported.
• Desired start date as soon as possible.
