As a member of Transportation and Traffic Management (TTM), this position assists in development and implementation of efficient transportation services on and around the Columbus campus. This includes conducting complex performance and operational analyses, gathering feedback from stakeholders, making recommendations for service changes and assisting with schedule development and production to improve efficiency and productivity.
Reviews data collection and raw data to identify validity issues and adjust as necessary to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the data. Prepares innovative reports, dashboards, and other visualizations regarding ridership, productivity, passengers per hour, and other Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as requested. Works with Office of Technology and Digital Innovation (OTDI) and external vendors to build new functions and reports in the database in response to planning needs and requests.
Develops and presents oral, written, and graphic presentations that convey complex data, service change information and performance metrics, such as ridership, on-time performance, costs per service hour/mile, in an accessible and understandable manner to a wide variety of audiences (staff, students, faculty, etc.).
Create and/or update documentation for internal policies, processes, and standard operating procedures. Respond to customer comments and complaints relating to service issues. Provides support for transportation projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer and information science or business administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. 2 years of relevant experience required. 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred. Proven experience with database environments and database query tools is required. Proven experience in problem resolution is required. Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office products including Excel and Access is required. Proven experience conducing data analysis and developing and producing reports for information sharing is required. Familiarity with operation of buses, bus routes, and scheduling is desired. Ability to work with diverse environment is required.
