Position Summary: The Data Analyst identifies, analyzes, and interprets user behavior on a web-based collaboration system and delivers key metrics to inform business processes.
Furthermore, the analyst presents data in a format most appropriate for communicating the critical information to stakeholders. The analyst will also use several tools - including Splunk, Python, Tableau, and SQL - for process improvement, automation, and integration. The analyst will also provide empirical support for evaluating the performance of the program's content and outreach.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Ability to identify, analyze, and interpret trends in complex datasets Work with management to prioritize program and information needs Locate and define new process improvement opportunities Integrate data across multiple platforms or environments Required Qualifications: Must be familiar with Tesla programs Proficiency with SQL database queries to support data mining requests Ability to extract fields, create logical system of event types, design and configure interactive dashboards in Splunk Ability to leverage Python or other scripting language to automate data collection, cleanup, analysis, and visualization Knowledge of data visualization tools, such as Tableau Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy Ability to communicate data insights effectively for the layperson Ability to think through complex problems and develop solutions independently Ability to balance competing demands and appropriately prioritize time and effort Ability to evaluate costs/benefits of alternative courses of action and select high utility choices Excellent written and spoken communication skills Desired Qualifications: Advanced knowledge of Python, R, or other scripting languages Demonstrated proficiency with using Splunk for presenting customer insights Prior experience with business intelligence or customer analytics for a web/tech centered company Prior professional experience with statistical modeling or social network analysis tools (e.g., Gephi, NodeXL) Knowledge of the cross industry standard process for data mining (CRISP DM) Education/Experience: BA/BS/MS in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, or similar relevant field Military experience preferred To apply to this position, please submit: A resume A cover letter Salary: The wage range for this role takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
