Job Duties
The Department of Human Resource Management (DHRM) is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Senior Data Analyst. This position will be responsible for gathering and analyzing large sets of structured and unstructured data; and analyzing, processing, and developing reports as well as interpreting the results to create meaningful visualizations for DHRM and its customers. The individual in this role will utilize data analytic methods, processes, algorithms, and systems to extract knowledge and insights from structured and unstructured data and apply knowledge and actionable insights from data across a broad range of application domains. To ensure adoption by the business, this position will be required to ensure the quality of each dashboard release, data refresh, and adhere to a regular refresh and dashboard publishing schedule. The incumbent of this position will be responsible for performing the following functions:
• Refreshing analysis data on a regular basis and publish new dashboards.
• Working with IT to test and incorporate new data sources as they become available.
• In partnership with DHRM internal and external customers, ensure data accuracy by quality checking each analysis prior to publishing.
• Building new data visualizations to demonstrate business performance and uncover opportunity.
• Participating in business/IT projects that will enhance the quality of the data to be used in the visualization tool and ensure data sets utilize core data wherever possible.
• Compiling and analyzing data from a variety of applications, systems, and sources to create/summarize for analysis.
• Maintaining strong knowledge of DHRM application infrastructure, architectures, and environments.
• Continuous system improvement and customer focus within agreed standards and timelines are keys to satisfactorily performing the functions of this role.
Minimum Qualifications
• Experience demonstrating extensive knowledge of relational databases and supporting application design and development tools and languages.
• Understanding of data modeling and data warehousing.
• Experience applying modern technologies to solve business needs.
• Experience in the use and development of prevalent web technologies.
• Familiarity with coding skills in languages such as R and Python.
• Experience with, and/or strong understanding of programming languages, machine learning, and statistics.
• Experience demonstrating the ability to motivate, engage and collaborate with others to provide customer service to diverse internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience communicating verbally with demonstrated ability to make oral presentations, provide technical guidance, and experience communicating in writing with demonstrated ability to formulated/develop technical instructions for internal and external clients, or other similar forms of written communications.
• Experience demonstrating analytical and problem-solving skills and working in deadline driven environment.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
Additional Considerations
• Experience with the Microsoft Power Platform including PowerBI.
• Familiarity in SAS Viya and SAS programming for data management, statistical analysis, and analytic reporting.
• Extensive knowledge of HR applications.
