Form of workStetson University seeks a systems thinker and creative problem solver to serve the Stetson University community by providing analytical and operational insights, information, and infrastructure to advance our university mission. The Data Analyst – Academic Operations fulfills operational reporting requests from live production databases, conducts data analyses from historical data sets, manages data within multiple systems, and supports optimization of business processes throughout the institution, with a focus on academic affairs and enrollment management and working very closely with the operations of the Office of the Registrar. As part of a dynamic team within the Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness (www.stetson.edu/ire), the Data Analysts have primary or secondary responsibility over several processes and systems and serve as a liaison to a group of offices and departments to support effectiveness. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Institutional Research and Effectiveness, the Data Analyst is a full-time staff member in the Academic Affairs division.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and maintain a robust suite of operational reports using SQL in Argos by Evisions, supporting a diverse range of business practices, including data-driven tailored communications using HTML; online forms using Dynamic Forms to facilitate data collection and student and employee self-service workflows; and online data dashboards using Microsoft Power BI to facilitate data-driven decision making
- Coordinate administrative and reporting processes including, but not limited to, active maintenance of transfer articulation database, grade reporting and academic standing, and roster verification and priority registration
- Assist in the ongoing expansion of the use of Slate by Technolutions throughout university business operations
- Provide administrative support to the Academic Appeals Committee
- Serve as primary administrator for divisionally maintained software systems including, but not limited to Degree Works by Ellucian and Dynamic Forms by NGWeb Solutions
- Create and maintain thorough and accurate documentation of technical processes, identifying and implementing process enhancements to increase efficiency
- Maintain accurate student records in the Ellucian SCT Banner student information system (SIS) through multiple extract, transform, load (ETL) processes
- Serve as primary liaison for reporting, analytics, and process enhancement for Admissions, College of Arts and Sciences, duPont-Ball Library, School of Business Administration, School of Music, Student Accounts, Student Financial Planning, and Registrar
- Perform other site and position specific duties as assigned

Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledgeable in the use and structure of databases and spreadsheet software
Desired Qualifications:
- Ability to summarize report information in narrative, graphical, and tabular format
- Ability to conduct statistical analyses
- Experience with complex report development and dissemination
- Experience with project management and business process review and documentation
- Knowledge of complex SQL coding, advanced Excel functions, and basic HTML coding
- Knowledge of student information systems and/or personnel/payroll systems; ability to develop reports using queries
- Working knowledge of Ellucian Banner, Argos by Evisions, Slate by Technolutions, Dynamic Forms by NGWeb Solutions, SPSS/R, and Microsoft Power BI
