About the role:
We are seeking an experienced Claims Professional to join our Cyber Claims Department. The Everest Cyber Claims Department is part of Everest Financial & Specialty Lines Claims and is a rapidly growing and collaborative group.
The ideal candidate should possess the ability to handle Cyber claims. More particularly, the ideal candidate will be able to analyze insurance coverage issues and resolve claims according to certain Best Practices and within stated authority limits. This position will report to the Director of Cyber Claims.
Job Description:
- The Everest Cyber department is rapidly growing and looking to staff a SPECIALIST position to join a dedicated, collaborative rapidly expanding team. This is a unique opportunity to handle claims with a growth mentality but with corporate support. This is also an opportunity to develop experience in every single aspect of the dynamic world of cyber coverage.
- The SPECIALIST position will intake, investigate, determine coverage, manage and resolve Cyber, Privacy, Media and Tech E&O claims. This position will handle demanding and complex first party Cyber Claims, including Data Breaches, Business Interruption, Contingent Business Interruption, and Extortion claims. The position will also handle third party privacy liability, PCI, Regulatory, Media and Tech E&O claims, resolving claims effectively and efficiently.
- Everest Cyber Claim handlers also work in collaboration with management and underwriters to identify exposures, trends and risks. Cyber claim handlers also assist with client and broker policy review and trends.
- The ideal candidate will be detail orientated, able to multi-task, and self-motivated. A successful candidate will be a thorough and efficient problem solver capable of learning technical and legal issues. This position will require independence and self-motivation to resolve claims within defined authority limits. A successful candidate will also provide responsive, compassionate and excellent customer service.
Summary of Responsibilities
- The responsibilities of this position include the intake and investigation of claims. This position will make coverage determinations, set or request appropriate reserves based on risk exposure. This position will also manage and review budgets, restoration plans and Business Interruption Income Loss Proof of Losses. This position will also review invoices for guideline compliance, update files and maintain calendars. This position will also be needed to assist with emergencies on a rotational on-call schedule.
- This position will explain policy terms, guide Insureds and maintain regular updates to brokers. This position will address Insured and Broker coverage concerns. This position will also participate in regular claim and client presentations. This position will also closely support cyber underwriters, providing detailed claim descriptions and updates. The position will also identify exposures, trends and risks to underwriting and management as needed. The position will work in conjunction with counsel to guide and resolve litigation.
- This position will also ensure that all legal, ethical, and organizational mandates are carried out, including any potential OFAC or any other sanctions obligations. The position will also fulfil organization commitments to excellence, service and fairness.
Work Experience & Qualifications
- Relevant experiences: A broad Insurance experience, including understanding of policy language, coverages, ethics and claim practices. Legal experience, including litigation, class action, regulatory, breach response, coverage would also be helpful. Cyber experience or understanding, including computer security, forensics, and network restoration, would also be helpful.
- Experience with fraudulent transfer or privacy-related employment claims, such as BIPA, would also be helpful

For NYC Only: The base salary range for this position is $110,000-$170,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
