Position Purpose:
The Customer Service Representative is responsible for the customer accounts and working closely with the Account Managers handling accounts. This can include, but not limited to, dealing directly with customers, responding to all customer needs and managing internal customer's needs.
Summary of Responsibilities:
The Customer Service Representative is responsible for a specific group of customer accounts and works closely with the Account Manager handling those accounts. Taking direction from the Customer Service Manager, the Customer Service Representative deals directly with customers as appropriate, receives incoming order information, responds to customer needs and communicates regularly with the field account manager. Professional demeanor and positive attitude reflect the tenor of the department.
Key Specific Responsibilities:

  • Handle all customer needs in a professional and efficient manner.

  • Process, input and confirm all orders, add-on orders, and sample requests through the computer system.

  • Carefully monitor all phases of customer shipments to insure full service to the customer is achieved.

  • Proactively pursue sales of short-coded product with customers.

  • Assist assigned Account Managers with customer related activities.

  • Willingly accept assignments and complete all them efficiently and effectively.

  • Maintain a professional working office environment.

  • Provide support to department and company programs by acting as a team member and actively participating as appropriate.

  • Demonstrate a "WE" approach to business that is directed to the company as a whole.

  • Provides lunch and vacation relief for corporate switchboard.

  • Initiate all customer (consumer) complaints using customer complaint form. Coordinate retrieval of product in question, follow up with complaint on resolution and provide compensation when appropriate.

  • Communicate throughout various departments of promotional activities and large customer orders-purchasing, scheduling, production, etc.

Essential Functions:
  • Ability to walk around facility, as well as climb stairs.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)
  • Ability to read/write the English language.
  • While performing duties of the job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, walk
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.

Qualifications for Position:
  • High School Diploma
  • Three to five years previous experience in dealing with internal/external customers.
  • Drive to perform consistent routine tasks each day with the ability to manage change due to demands.
  • Excellent computer skills- word, excel, preferable experience with Sage and EDI or other warehouse management systems.
  • Ability to work with diverse group of customers.
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and ability to multitask.
  • Must maintain professionalism at all times, especially when working with customers
  • Ability to problem solve, including problem identification and solutions.
