Position Overview
This position is responsible for providing leadership and subject matter expertise for the duties of the
Customer Service staff. This person will also work closely with management to focus on the key
initiatives of improving efficiencies and productivity.
Essential Functions
- Provide leadership and subject matter expertise daily to the Customer Service staff.
- Monitor the timely completion of revenue cycle coding department in various duties, such as
documentation improvement, coding accuracy, cross-training opportunities
- Assist the RCM A/R Supervisor with performance management of the Customer Service team by
providing ongoing feedback and opportunities for training
- Assist in supervising all production goals, while monitoring daily production metrics
- Assist in the evaluation and recommendations of programs, procedures for improved
operations, modifications to and/or implementation of new procedures and workflows
- Identify and work with management to resolve problems in revenue cycle processes and when
appropriate, communicate and/or initiate changes to prevent future problems
- Work with the RCM Supervisor to research requests not clearly meeting established criteria
- Works closely with the RCM Supervisor daily to ensure a smooth operation within the
department
- Provides back-up support to RCM staff during RCM Supervisor’s absence
- Take the lead on educating and training all new hire employees in addition to cross-functional
trainings to existing RCM team members
- Meet or exceed required RCM departmental productivity standards on a consistent basis
- Facilitate monthly RCM team specific staff meetings (in the absence of the supervisor)
- Provide ongoing feedback to the RCM Supervisor regarding team’s production progress
- Respond to patient inquires and complaints with 48 hours of date of receipt
- Pro-actively escalate issues and conflict to the RCM Supervisor and/or RCM Manager as needed
- Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with other RCM Team Lead Colleagues
- Demonstrate effective supervisory skills
- Demonstrates ability to establish and maintain effective internal and external working
relationships
- Must demonstrate an above average ability to communicate effectively both orally and in
writing
- Must demonstrate the ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion
Knowledge/Skills Abilities Required
High School Diploma
Minimum 3 years’ experience in accounts receivable, billing, claims, authorizations, medical records, or
other revenue cycle functions
NextGen Practice Management, or other EMR System Experience
Excellent Customer Service skills
Exceptional Communication skills
Ability to organize and prioritize
Ability to drive results from staff
Pay & Benefits Information
This is a non-exempt position and is eligible for overtime. The pay range for this position is $18.39 to $30.65 per hour, DOE.
