SalaryHeidtman Steel Products, Inc. is searching for a Customer Service Representative (CSR) for our East Chicago, IN location. The CSR will provide World-class Customer Service to Heidtman’s Toll Processing customers. This position is responsible for guiding customer-owned steel through our processes from receipt to shipment while working in conjunction with various internal departments including receiving, operations, scheduling, and shipping.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- CSRs provide consistent communication with customers on order status
- Enter and verify accuracy of work orders and production orders
- Monitor production orders and expedite with scheduling and operations, if needed
- Provide customer release information to shipping
- Problem solving, including but not limited to: Correcting errors on production orders, locating tags, and resolving inventory and/or invoicing issues
- Other duties as assigned
- Tech savvy with strong knowledge of entire Microsoft suite
- Capable of multi-tasking and working independently
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skill
- Basic knowledge of steel and steel production
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Data entry background
- Working knowledge and understanding of how processes work
- Prior experience in shipping and/or scheduling is preferred
