Customer Service Representative

Starting Pay $20-$22 per hour DOE, Plus monthly paid Incentive Program.

This is not your average Call Center! River City’s Customer Service team is a small, close-knit group that works very closely with all departments within RCE. This role involves in-depth knowledge of our services and acts as the main contact for new and existing customers seeking our services.

Position Overview:

River City is now hiring Customer Service Representatives!

Under the direction of the Customer Service Manager, the Customer Service Representative is responsible for providing Customer Service and inside sales services to new and existing customers to fulfill their service needs. This position will work closely with the sales, dispatch, and billing teams to ensure that River City Environmental is meeting and exceeding customer expectations.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Lives within 30 minutes of PDX (we are located nearby)
  • Is available to onsite at our office in NE Portland
  • Is available to work Monday - Friday between 7 am - 5:30 pm (8-hour shift)
  • Has at least 1-year experience working in a high volume Call Center environment fielding inbound customer calls
  • Has at least 1-year experience answering questions about products or services and providing pricing
  • Has at least 1-year experience preparing work orders and scheduling services

Duties include:

  • Answer incoming calls from new and existing customers, conduct professional conversations to service accounts.
  • Answer questions regarding our vast range of services, determine and research if the necessary customer needs regarding site and job order specification.
  • Gain customer trust and respect by establishing and maintaining effective relationships.
  • Educate customers about terminology, features, and benefits of services in order to improve product-related sales and customer satisfaction; proactively recommend items needed by customers in order to increase satisfaction.
  • Work in tandem with the Dispatch team to schedule services.
  • Relays essential information to co-workers and other departments as needed.
  • Present price, credit, and terms in accordance with standard procedures; accurately process customer transactions.
  • Remain current on consumer preferences, changes in local codes, and product developments.
  • Manage time effectively, actively problem solve, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Answer email inquiries, respond to voicemail messages, and follow up with customers following services or questions as needed, and to resolve complaints.
  • Greet walk-in visitors and direct them to the appropriate party.
  • Assist billing when call volume is low.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Some college preferred.
  • Excellent phone presence, advanced Customer Service skills required.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software required.
  • Ability to type 45 wpm+; excellent data entry skills
  • Able to type while talking with a customer on the phone.
  • Ability to speak a second language a PLUS.
  • High energy; ability to work with a sense of urgency in an ever-changing environment and meet deadlines.
  • Able to project a positive company image and interact professionally with customers and coworkers.
  • Must be able to continuously learn and retain the knowledge of new services and promotions.
  • Must be able to accommodate working a variety of shifts and days when asked. Available to work some overtime. Work shifts may change to accommodate customer needs.
  • Able to work independently
