- Interface with downstream customers, pack, vehicle, and the field. Gathering relevant information on applications and performance of 4680 cells
- Own the containment process as well as any potential escapes and be accountable to close actions that ensure issues cannot reoccur
- Investigate and collect data on opportunities for improvements to 4680 quality and quantify impact
- Build fundamental understanding of complex technical challenges (design, manufacturing, integration, etc.) based on data collected
- Leads risk assessments at the product/manufacturing level and drives mitigation
- Drive implementation of QMS program across all global Tesla 4680 Cell Manufacturing factories
- Define and propose business process performance metrics for all levels of the organization. Making improvements to the quality management system and how the elements interface with one another
- Using a data driven approach to turn opportunities into actionable tasks that can be deployed to engineering teams, then track those actions to closure
- Own KPI’s that describe the quality performance of the 4680 program
- Interface with reliability engineering teams to implement findings from the field, CAE, lifetime testing as well as abuse engineering
- 5 – 10+ years experience in manufacturing quality, reliability, or relevant field
- Experience working with lithium-ion cells or high reliability products like medical or aerospace is preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in a Technical discipline, evidence of exceptional experience, or equivalent
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to influence stakeholders with the technical skills to back it up
- Data analytical skills using multiple platforms and languages. (SQL, Python, Tableau, Matlab, JMP, etc.) is preferred
- Years of experience using structured problem-solving methods to root cause, solve and iteratively improve product quality
- Detail oriented, with the ability to effectively handle multiple priorities
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills and strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across levels and functions
- Can demonstrate ability to perform deadlines and perform under high pressure
- Fluent with common MS office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
