SalaryThe Cryopreservation Billing Specialist is a critical position in our network. This individual is responsible for handling verification of Insurance, Benefits Authorization and Charge Entry for patients with insurance coverage for cryopreservation. Individuals with at least 4 years of experience in these areas of healthcare are encouraged to apply!
Responsibilities:
- Attending and occasionally facilitating meetings, trainings, and presentations.
- Obtains insurance benefit information/authorization/pre-determination for all patient’s if needed.
- Assists patients in preparing insurance forms, answers patient's questions about unpaid balances and verifying balances and refunds for accuracy.
- Maintains/audits records of patient transactions.
- Updating patient account when payments are received.
- Reporting problems and concerns to Finance Service Manager.
- Complying with relevant rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Preforming other duties as needed
Required Skills, knowledge and abilities:
- Proficient in medical terminology, billing practices and coding.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite and computer skills.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
Education / Work experience:
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in healthcare verification of benefits, preauthorization and billing.
