Minimum qualifications:
- Experience working in a clean room environment.
- Experience in Google Sheets/Docs.
- Experience with device inspection.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting dilution refrigerators.
- Knowledge of mechanical fabrication, mechanical testing, and electrical testing.
- Leak checking and assembly skills relevant to vacuum and/or gas handling systems.
About the job
As the Cryogenic Operations Technician, you will assume primary responsibility for the execution and continuous improvement of Cryogenic Operations in support of Google’s growing fleet of quantum computing systems. You will manage new cryostat installation, perform planned and unplanned maintenance of existing cryostats, develop and execute test plans for cryosystems and their components as needed for commissioning or returning systems to service, develop procedures and recommend design changes to promote reliability and efficiency, define requirements and also help implement control and monitoring software for cryosystems, provide technical ownership for documenting all of the above, and train technician staff on Cryogenic Operations.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $81,000-$119,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee new cryostat installation.
- Execute cooldown and warmup procedures.
- Recommend and implement changes to cryostat operations which improve reliability and efficiency.
- Provide education on fleet engineering and assist other hardware research team members who need to perform cryostat operations.
- Collaborate with software teams to develop tools for monitoring cryostats, assist with cryostat operations, and track operational history.
