The Creative Packaging Engineer will support the Creative Packaging Engineering Manager in developing and maintaining Packaging Engineering specifications and standards for all JCPenney Private Brand packaging and labeling.

Creative Packaging Engineer - Creative Packaging, Brand Management
The Creative Packaging Engineer will support the Creative Packaging Engineering Manager in developing and maintaining Packaging Engineering specifications and standards for all JCPenney Private Brand packaging and labeling.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering specifications for private brand apparel and home product packaging and labeling
- Ensure specifications meet all legal, structural, material, fixture application and protection requirements
- Work cross-functionally with Product Development, Sourcing, Project Managers and graphic designers
- Collaboration with packaging suppliers, outside creative resources and merchandise suppliers
- Evaluate pre- and post-production samples for quality assurance and brand synergy
- Maintains strong technical expertise in materials and structural packaging design
- Monitor marketplace and competition for opportunities for innovation, cost efficiencies and sustainability
- Responsible for identifying and resolving quality issues at the supply chain or store level
Core Competencies & Accomplishments:
- 1-3 years of related experience in packaging, physical sciences, supply chain or retail
- Relationship building with cross-functional team members and external partners
- Computer aided design experience; Adobe Creative Suite preferred
- Good communication, listening and problem solving skills in a fast paced environment
- Excellent organization skills with attention to detail and ability to prioritize effectively
- Degree in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Engineering or supply chain related program
